Vatican Decrees of Power

The Papal Bulls —
Ownership of All Souls

A Papal Bull is a formal decree from the Pope carrying the full authority of Canon Law — the highest legal authority in the Vatican's system. These documents, issued between 1302 and 1493, established the legal framework for Vatican ownership of every soul, every piece of land, and every nation on Earth. They have never been revoked.

The Three Kingdoms The Trust System

What is a Papal Bull? The name comes from the Latin bulla — the leaden seal affixed to official documents to authenticate them. A Papal Bull is the Pope's most solemn and binding form of decree. In Canon Law, it supersedes all secular (civil) law. These are not merely religious statements — they are legal instruments that shaped international law, colonization policy, and the treatment of all human beings.

Five Documents That Changed Everything

1302

Unam Sanctam — "One Holy"

Pope Boniface VIII | November 18, 1302

The most powerful and far-reaching Papal Bull in history. Unam Sanctam declared that all human beings on Earth are subject to the Pope — spiritually, legally, and politically. It stated that outside the Roman Catholic Church there is no salvation, and that submission to the Pope is "altogether necessary for salvation for every human creature."

Legally, this created the doctrine of Vatican sovereignty over all souls. Every living person — regardless of faith, nationality, or birth — was placed under Papal jurisdiction by this decree. This doctrine has never been formally revoked and remains in Canon Law.

Romanus Pontifex — "The Roman Pontiff"

Pope Nicholas V | January 8, 1455

Issued to King Afonso V of Portugal, this Papal Bull granted European Christian nations the right to claim sovereignty over all non-Christian lands — and to enslave their inhabitants. It effectively gave the Vatican and Catholic monarchies legal ownership of all land on Earth not already under Christian rule.

Romanus Pontifex is the foundation of the Doctrine of Discovery — the legal principle used to justify the colonization of the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia. It declared that conquered peoples had no rights, that their lands could be seized, and that they could be reduced to "perpetual slavery." This doctrine was upheld by the US Supreme Court as recently as 1823.

1481

Aeterni Regis — "Eternal King"

Pope Sixtus IV | June 21, 1481

Strengthened and confirmed the previous grants of territory to Portugal and Spain, dividing the non-Christian world between the two Catholic powers. This bull established the precedent that the Pope had the authority to divide Earth among Christian rulers — acting as the ultimate owner and arbiter of all land.

This set the stage for the Treaty of Tordesillas (1494), which formally divided the entire non-European world between Spain and Portugal with the Pope's blessing and authority.

Inter Caetera — "Among Other Works"

Pope Alexander VI | May 4, 1493

Issued following Columbus's first voyage, Inter Caetera granted Spain dominion over the newly discovered Americas and all lands to the west. It declared that the indigenous peoples of the Americas had no rights to their land and were to be "brought to the Catholic faith."

This bull is the legal foundation of the entire colonization of the Americas. The United States, Canada, Australia, and dozens of other modern nations were built on land taken under the authority of this Papal Bull. The Doctrine of Discovery derived from it was explicitly cited in Johnson v. McIntosh (1823), a US Supreme Court case that declared Native Americans had no property rights.

Sublimis Deus — "The Sublime God"

Pope Paul III | June 9, 1537

Often cited as a counterpoint, Sublimis Deus declared that indigenous peoples were rational human beings and should not be enslaved. However, it was quickly suppressed under pressure from Spain and Portugal, and its practical effect was minimal — the Doctrine of Discovery and existing colonial practices continued unchanged.

The existence of this bull demonstrates that Vatican leadership knew what the earlier bulls had enabled — and chose to suppress the correction rather than challenge the political and financial interests of Catholic monarchies.

📜 Quickly Suppressed ⚠️ Never Enforced

Unam Sanctam — The Bull That Claimed Your Soul

Written in 1302 during a power struggle between Pope Boniface VIII and King Philip IV of France, Unam Sanctam was Boniface's ultimate claim of supremacy. He declared that the Pope held both spiritual and temporal (political/legal) authority over all of creation — including all rulers, all subjects, and all souls.

The bull's key doctrine — "We declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff" — is not merely a religious statement. In the context of medieval and Canon Law, it is a legal claim of jurisdiction over every human being ever born.

Santos Bonacci and other researchers argue that Unam Sanctam has never been formally repealed — it remains in the body of Canon Law. The Vatican's claim to your soul, established in 1302, is still technically in force. Your birth certificate is, in effect, the mechanism through which this ancient claim is administered in the modern world.

"We declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff."
— Pope Boniface VIII, Unam Sanctam, 1302 AD

Why This Matters Now

The Vatican has never rescinded Unam Sanctam. The Cestui Que Vie Act 1666 operates within the framework it created. When courts refer to "the Crown" or "the State" as the legal owner of your estate, they are operating within a system whose ultimate foundation is this papal decree — whether they know it or not.
